John Schill in the Community
In addition to helping the people of Arizona through the great legal work provided by the Schill Law Group, John Schill is well known in the community for the time he spends advocating for “man’s best friend” and other animals across the state. It’s not uncommon to see him in the news fighting for justice for animals and their owners, as in the case of the 23 dogs that died while in the care of the Green Acres Dog Boarding facility.
John was also able to save the life of a pit bull named Mickey who was petitioned to be put to sleep. Rather than being killed, Mickey will live out his life in the care of a sanctuary. John still visits him weekly, and handled the case pro-bono.
He continued the fight to protect the rights of animals in a case involving the death of a bunny adopted from Tranquility Trail Sanctuary. John fought to establish a legal precedent of upholding adoption agreements, as a means of protecting adopted animals of all kinds.
John also served in the United States Army as an Airborne Judge Advocate and was assigned to XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his tour of duty he was deployed to Somalia from 1993-94 for Operation Restore Hope.
